GRAND KNIGHT’S COMMENTSGreetings Brother Knights, I am honored to be taking over as your Grand Knight this July. I would like to thank our Past Grand Knight for his great service to this council these past two years. Under Jerry Hamill’s leadership the council has strengthened our Service Programs, improved our ability to manage our finances, appointed a Charity Committee to help manage our Charity Funds, instituted a Membership Retention Committee and the establishment of a Round Table at Sacred Heart / St Pat’s Parish. I congratulate Jerry as well as the Council on these accomplishments. Due to Jerry’s great experience with accounting and budgeting, I have asked Jerry to help with our Charity Accounts while he serves out his term as our Three Year Trustee. It has been a privilege to be able to work with and learn from Jerry these past two years and I thank the Nomination Committee and the Council for trusting me to serve as your Grand Knight. We are in the process of verifying the Service Director Positions. Kevin Friederichs will be our Program Director this year with some guidance from Jerry Olson our Past Program Director. Jerry Olson was instrumental in assisting Jerry Hamill the past two years in strengthening our Service Programs and I also thank Jerry Olson for his service. I thank all of our Officers and Directors for their service this past year and with many of our Officer and Director Positions remaining the same as last year, I believe that the future looks very bright for this council. I would also like to note some changes from last year. First, I will be stepping down as Newsletter Editor. Jeremy Johnson is our new Newsletter Editor and his contact information can be found in our officer list on the cover. We also have some new permanent email addresses for key officer positions that will be handed down to whoever is in that office. These email address are for the Grand Knight (gk@kofceauclaire.org), Financial Secretary (fs@kofceauclaire.org) and Newsletter Editor (ne@kofceauclaire.org). Also Jerry Hamill has appointed a Charities Committee to act as a steering committee to make recommendations to the council on our Charity Accounts. Members of this committee are but are not limited to Tim Carroll, Kevin Friederichs, Jack Fay, Mark Aebly, Jerry Hamill, Jerry Olson, Al Weix and Jerry Whalen. I also would like to thank everyone that has made our summertime charity activities so successful by donating your time to work these events. Starting with our Brat Stand at Gordy’s, then those that helped with arm bands at Country Fest and finally those that are signed up to work parking at Country Jam. With as busy as summer can be and all the demands on your time, thanks for your sacrifice. I will try to keep future reports shorter but since I am writing this newsletter one last time, no one is here to stop me. Have a great summer! Vivat Jesus!
